Roving is washed and processed sheep fleece, carded and ready for spinning or for use in other textile arts. Our roving comes from our flock of Cotswold and Border Leicester sheep.
Border Leicester sheep produce lustrous, sturdy wool with an average staple length of 6-8inches. This type of roving is often used for spinning semi-worsted or gently twisted yarn and is most popular for knitting. This roving takes dye clearly and felts well.
