Roving is washed and processed sheep fleece, carded and ready for spinning or for use in other textile arts. Our roving comes from our flock of Cotswold and Border Leicester sheep.
A silky and strong longwool with a staple length of 7-13 inches, Cotswold wool is used by knitters to make durable outerwear such as socks and sweaters. It is also commonly used in weaving and felting.After drastic population declines in the mid 1900’s, the Cotswold breed has been brought back from near extinction because of demand from fiber artists for its wool.
